This week, we have a few interesting React releases, many of them from the TanStack ecosystem. I also found great articles and interesting PRs to look at.

On the React Native side, reducing iOS build times will be a very welcome improvement, and Rozenite could significantly improve the React Native DX too!

A TC39 meeting is in progress, and I’ve also heard TS 5.9 and Node 22.18 (the first LTS to unflag type stripping) are both around the corner!

Apparently, not everyone is on vacation yet because it's a great week.

On the React side, we have an early version of React Server Components support in React Router, and a new comprehensive React Compiler docs.

It's even more exciting for React Native developers: Reanimated v4 is now stable, and Screens now support native tabs, coming soon in Expo!

I also take the opportunity to warn that an npm phishing attack is currently in progress, targeting maintainers of popular packages. Don't trust any email coming from npmjs.org, they are spoofed.

On the React Native side, 0.81 is getting closer and closer to us as the new release candidate shows and there’s a couple of new announcements around react-native-worklets, react-native-wallet, and Module Federation Metro and Node API support for React Native.

It definitely feels like everyone caught the lazy summer vibe as the whole world went on vacation but we still managed to carve out something interesting for you to read.

We’ve learned how Meta renders React server-side (which is crazy, actually) and Vercel has made some interesting moves in the metaframework sphere by acquiring NuxtLabs.

From the React Native ecosystem, we have React Native Unistyles 3.0, now marked as stable, and we’ve seen the first RC of React Native 0.81, although without any additional context whatsoever.

On the React Native side, the community is adopting Nitro Modules in various libraries, and Skia got built-in support for Lottie animations.

ES2025 has been approved, and TS 5.9 beta should come anytime soon.

It's been a fairly calm week for the React ecosystem, but not for the React Native world. Meta has made an exciting announcement about the release of React Native 0.80, where they've decided to officially freeze the Old Architecture. Make sure you're ready to adapt your app to the New Architecture, as it seems like it could be the last moment to do so.

This week is relatively calm in the React ecosystem, but we still have various interesting blog posts and releases. Maybe we'll soon get some exciting news from React Summit that's about on Friday!

On the React Native side, all the devs are already working on iOS 26 Liquid Glass support and other things announced by Apple yesterday. This new design thing is rather controversial and subject to a lot of mockery 😂. React Native 0.80 is just around the corner, I'll keep all this for later, but you can get a sneak peek in Alex Hunt talk at App.js.

The JS ecosystem has been rather active with Oxlint 1.0 and various interesting Node.js news.

I thought I was on schedule for today's issue, until I realized that Dan Abramov wrote 4 RSC blog posts this week 😂. We also get great releases, including Storybook, LiveStore, Base UI, and the Lingo Compiler is a quite exciting innovation. The community is still processing last week's Remix awakening with many videos and podcasts commenting on the news.

React Native devs were at App.js last week, where the React Native team unveiled their plan to freeze the Legacy Architecture.

The last TC39 meeting was also quite productive, with 3 proposals progressing to stage 4 among other things. We also got various interesting announcements from the Vite ecosystem.
